Drag an existing curve
- Open a graph and select Hand Edit: Drag to shape. Under Pick target, choose Trunk only, Branches only or Roots only to select through a dense crown. Turn Foliage off if it obscures the wood.
- Left-drag a highlighted curve. Nearby points move smoothly and the base stays attached. Untouched controls keep their original spacing. Trunks are green, branches yellow and roots brown; white dots mark control positions.
- Release to rebuild. Rotate the camera to adjust another plane. Choose View aligned if a locked plane is edge-on. Alt/right mouse navigates; Escape cancels; Ctrl+Z undoes; 0 returns to navigation.
Turn individual leaves
Keep Foliage visible and select Pick target: Leaves only. This activates Drag to shape and shows cyan guides from each leaf stem to its tip. Drag a guide towards the desired direction: only that leaf or card cluster turns, its stem stays attached and its size stays unchanged. Further drags compose with earlier turns. Review leaf targets after changing the seed or foliage count.
Draw freely
Redraw curve replaces the picked spline shape from its base. Draw trunk starts a new stroke on the camera-facing plane through the origin and creates its mesh path. Draw branch and Draw root start on a picked curve and add a tapered spline to that output. Rotate the view and use Drag to shape to refine depth.
Editable graph history
The first committed edit inserts Hand Modification immediately after the selected curve or foliage output. Every original consumer connects to its output, including branch generators and mesh nodes. Further strokes on that modifier stay in its Strokes array. Edit stored points in Details, disable Enabled to compare the procedural shape, or delete the node to reconnect its original input to its consumers. Undo and redo cover the edit and wiring together. Changing the target or plane, starting right-mouse navigation, or losing viewport focus cancels an unfinished stroke.
The viewport overlay shows source geometry before downstream Transform or placement nodes. Shape it before applying placement transforms. Strokes store shapes in source-local metres. Existing spline edits preserve procedural radii and sample count. Upstream parameters still regenerate beneath hand-shaped offsets. Changing branch counts or seeds can change which spline occupies a stored index; review hand edits after structural recipe changes.
