Compare with a fixed seed
- Record Random Seed for one asteroid or Cluster Seed for a field.
- Change one shape or placement parameter and regenerate.
- Restore that parameter and regenerate to compare with the original.
- Save the recipe and level together when keeping the result.
What to preserve
| Workflow | Keep together |
|---|---|
| Single asteroid | Random Seed, noise, crater settings, deformers, Deformer Random Seed, material and mesh transform |
| Field | Cluster Seed, count, distribution, transform, radius, spacing, subclusters, outliers and spline points |
| Templates | Template contents and array order, material order and allowed asteroid types |
| Detail comparison | Resolution, camera distance, LOD and ray-tracing settings |
The template's seed is not used verbatim for every member. Changing template order can assign different shapes with the same Cluster Seed. Randomize stores a new seed; record its result afterwards.
Noise results are not promised to be byte-identical across engine toolchains or platforms. Parallel normal accumulation can also differ slightly between runs.
