Placement preview

ULDK editor mode controls diagram
  1. Enter the ULDK editor mode.
  2. The last opened tab, Shapes or Utilities, opens automatically.
  3. The last used tool is selected automatically.
  4. Press Space to start or freeze the preview. Frozen previews stay visible while editing Details panel values.
  5. Click in the viewport to place the current preview.
  6. Press Escape to cancel an active preview/tool. After placement, Escape selects the last placed actor for immediate editing.

Shortcut deltas

The wheel shortcuts operate while the ULDK editor mode is active, even if the viewport is not currently focused.

InputBehavior
Mouse WheelIn Copy Tool, changes Copy Count.
Ctrl + Mouse WheelChanges the last active W/E/R delta. If no axis was selected yet, Translation X is used.
WCycles translation delta X, then Y, then Z.
ECycles rotation delta X, then Y, then Z.
RCycles scale delta X, then Y, then Z.

Details panel behavior

  • The reset icon beside the shortcut explanation resets selected ULDK properties to defaults.
  • Material assignment buttons should work even if another editor widget previously had focus.
  • Preview material is the base M_ULDK_VizGhost material. Edit that base material directly if you want to customize the preview look.
  • Changing shape material colors should update material parameters directly and keep the color picker responsive.
