VortexFX Actor
The VortexFX Actor generates Niagara particle systems along the vortex path.
Setup
- Place a VortexFX actor in your level
- Reference the VortexTunnel actor's spline
- Select your Niagara system
- Configure spacing and rotation parameters
Module Scripts
The plugin includes Niagara module scripts that:
- Calculate spawn points along the spline
- Orient particles to face vortex direction
- Synchronize with vortex rotation
- Handle particle velocity along the tunnel
Runtime FX Generation
Use the Pawn Movement Component to spawn FX at runtime:
- Attach the component to your pawn blueprint
- Configure FX spawn rate and lifetime
- FX will trail behind the pawn as it moves through the vortex
Optimization
- Use LOD for distant particle systems
- Limit particle count for performance
- Cull systems outside camera view
- Adjust spawn rate based on movement speed
