Texture Import

Automatic Texture Import

The plugin automatically searches for and imports textures referenced in the FBX file.

Supported Texture Types

  • Diffuse/Base Color: Main color texture
  • Normal Map: Surface detail normal map
  • Specular: Specular/roughness map
  • Opacity: Transparency mask

Texture Search

The plugin looks for textures in:

  1. Same directory as the FBX file
  2. Textures subdirectory
  3. Parent directory
  4. Paths specified in FBX file

Texture Naming Conventions

Textures are identified by naming conventions:

  • _Diffuse, _BaseColor, _D, _BC for diffuse
  • _Normal, _N, _NRM for normal maps
  • _Specular, _Spec, _S for specular
  • _Opacity, _Alpha, _O for opacity

Material Generation

Materials are automatically created and applied:

  1. Plugin creates material instance for each material slot
  2. Textures are assigned to appropriate parameters
  3. Material is applied to the procedural mesh component
