- Use an Unreal Engine 5.8 project. Save your current work before enabling plugins or importing content.
- Enable MetaHuman Creator, MetaHuman SDK, Groom and Live Link, together with the dependencies Unreal requests. Restart when prompted.
- Enable Support Compute Skin Cache for strand Groom rendering. Enable virtual texture support if the import summary reports virtual textures in the editable character's references.
- Import the supplied
.mhpkgthrough the Content Browser. Read Unreal's import summary and resolve any missing-plugin or project-setting notice. - Search the imported content for
MHC_MetaCatandBP_MetaCat. Unreal can remap folders during import, so search by asset name instead of relying on a fixed absolute path. - Drag
BP_MetaCatinto a level. Inspect the full body, face, leg and foot fur, and tail before connecting your gameplay or cinematic animation. - Save the imported assets and level.
Keep the imported character folder intact. Moving only the Blueprint or mesh omits its required materials, DNA, skeleton, Groom and binding assets. Use Unreal's asset tools for folder moves so references are updated.
