Download the separate UE 5.8 example project. This preview project requires the matching code plugin, which is still in preparation. The plugin is not included in this ZIP or the legacy Blueprint release.
Open the examples
- Install the matching JigSaw Puzzle plugin for your Unreal version. Enable JigsawPuzzle and its built-in ProceduralMeshComponent dependency.
- Extract the separate example project and open JigsawPuzzleDemo.uproject. The example archive deliberately contains no product plugin. Install the plugin first.
- Open Content/JigsawExamples/Maps/L_Gallery and play. Select artwork on the left. Select Interlocking, Tile swap or Sliding along the top.
- Change Columns / rows or Shuffle seed and select Apply settings. This starts a new session. Switch 2D / 3D changes the presentation while keeping current piece positions, moves, hints and elapsed time.
Editable level inventory
The Maps folder contains L_Gallery, L_Woodland_2D, L_Reef_Tabletop3D, L_Alpine_Swap, L_Cosmic_Sliding, L_Desert_Rotation, L_Botanical_Detailed, L_Harbor_Rectangular and L_Library_Tabletop3D. The themed definitions live in Content/JigsawExamples/Definitions; original generated artwork and board materials live in plugin content.
Change a level's starting puzzle
Select the Jigsaw Gallery Actor. Edit its Puzzles array, Initial Puzzle Index, Initial Mode and Start in 3D properties. The gallery uses the first local player controller. The example maps use JigsawDemoGameMode, which creates the controller needed for 3D drag input.
Initial Puzzle Index is zero-based. Duplicate a definition into your own project before changing shared example artwork or rules. Installing the matching precompiled plugin supplies the runtime module; the example has no project C++ module.
